GOYITA – Whippet-Mexi Mix / 1 year / 9kg / F-Spayed

Goyita has a pending adoption!

Goyita is a lovely new Canadian, and after just a week, she has found her groove with her foster family. She adores humans and would be best with families that are home most of the time and have a spare hand to dole out belly rubs consistently and frequently.

In the home she is great, and gets along really well with the in-house cat and dog. She is willing to share her dog bed with her foster sister, but we do know that she really adores her bed and her blanket (a place of her own!) During her down time, she will nibble on her antler or take a nap. Her foster family says she has the cutest chatter when told it’s bedtime (they relate it to Marge Simpson, but we want to see it on video!). So while not barky, her chatter may not be appreciated for apartment neighbours. She is working on her housetraining skills and is crate-trained.

When not lounging, she is food motivated and keen to learn. She knows sit, stay, bed, walk, lay down, and responds well to her name or Goya for short. She aims to please so we know there is a lot more good things ahead. She also likes to wrestle with her foster sister. Outside, she is so good on the leash, and will stay right bedside her humans.

Her future home will need to have a secure yard where she can play, and people home a lot. She needs an in house dog pal for confidence and play, as she likes to set the tone for playtime, a dog of equal (or lesser) size would be ideal. She is also cool with cats. To apply to adopt Goyita, check out the adoption process and application at www.dibsrescue.com. Her adoption fee is $750. If you are a family with kids, please check out our resources on kids and dogs before you apply (https://dibsrescue.com/kids-dogs/).
