JOSIE – Mini-Lab Mix / 2.5 Years / 16 kg / F-Spayed
Josie is not a DIBS pup, but she is seeking a forever home! We haven’t had the chance to meet her, but her foster mom says she is lovely! Foster mom had lots of good things to say about her:
– Josie comes in for affection, putting her face against your chest, just for a sweet moment, then she wanders away (cutest check-in/hug ever!)
– housetrained and crate trained (sleeps through the night without a peep)
– ok as a solo dog
– passed her cat test in Mexico, but seems pretty keen on critters outside, so who knows!
– Understands basic commands like sit, stay, wait
– Loves her walks and adventures and would be great with an active family. During the recent snow storm, Josie was very excited, and kept spinning and leaping in the snow piles.
All reports were great, so we had to ask “what is the downside”?
– she does drink a lot, but currently is getting several treats a day, so we asked foster mom to check salt levels in the kong/bones/treats
– she pulls on the leash for foster mom but not for foster dad, so she may be an opportunist (as many dogs are). Dogs do feel different energy through the leash and they act accordingly
– has been uncomfortable with kids not respecting her, in the past, so we are going to suggest kid-free for Josie.
She is great as a solo dog and is excited to see dogs on her walks (gives a little tail wag when she sees a pup). Foster mom has not been able to test her with dogs.
