BERENJENA – Chihuahua-Terrier Mix / 9 months / 5 kg / F-Spayed

We don’t normally want our dogs to get nicknames, but as Berenjena is a bit of a mouthful, the kids have been calling her Ellie. And…who are we to argue with kids!?

Ellie is small and mighty. She is a girl that knows what she wants, and she loves the boys! With male canine foster sibs she is playful and a blast all of the time. When you add female canine’s to the mix, she gets a little more bossy and clamours to be the center of attention (we all know someone like that, right?) With her humans, she loves them all equally. In fact, her foster parents say that her fun personality and her loyalty to her humans are the best things about her. Her foster parents may disagree on who she loves the most: everyone thinks they are the chosen one!

For her future home, she would be great with male dogs, or even as a solo dog. She is well socialized with cats and does so well. We do wonder if that could flip if there was not a dog pal there to be her playmate, as cats do not want to play Ellie-style!

She is housetrained, sleeps well in her crate overnight and for naps (door open/her choice). On walks she is getting better but still loves to zigzag to ensure she isn’t missing a thing! In her foster home she is amazing with kids: the kids are dog-savvy and their parents have educated on proper interaction with dogs.
