ZAKIA – Retriever Mix / 3 Years / 17kg / F-Spayed

Zakia has officially earned a spot on her foster mom’s “Top 3 Favourite Fosters” podium. (Which says a lot, considering Zakia is foster #11) If that’s not impressive enough for you, here is all she has to offer.

THE GOOD: Everything! Zakia is house-trained, crate-trained, has impeccable manners in the house and on leash, is great with other dogs, and despite being medium sized, She plays really well with small dogs. She’s good with dog-savvy cats too. (her BFF is one of the neighbourhood cats.) She’s great with respectful kids, and loves cuddling with them.

THE BAD: Nothing. Literally nothing. If we HAVE to nitpick, she can sometimes take a couple minutes to settle in new situations, but who can blame her? We’re all a little awkward in new places. That’s the only thing we can think of. She might be an angel.

THE REQUIREMENTS: Zakia’s number one need is a safe and secure yard. She loves to play and snooze outside. She would ideally have an existing dog pal in the house, but she would be ok solo given lots of playdates and pack walks. She needs an active family who are home most of the time (work from home pal?) and will take her on lots of walks, which is easy since she is the type of dog you can take anywhere.
