Portos is the dog with the amazing eyes. And, we don’t just mean the gorgeous colour: it goes deeper into the expression and right through to the soul of this guy. He knows what he likes. Walks, followed by lounging around. One minute of zoomies followed by belly rubs. Meals followed by snacks. He likes old friends (human and canine) and new ones. He isnt keen on crazy intense dogs, but who is? He would do best in a home with a dog with similar energy, that can do some lazy floor wresting or tug of war. A yard is preferred but not a requirement provided he gets off least time and lots of walks (no dog parks for Portos). He isn’t a beginners dog, as he thrives on structure that an experienced dog person can bring to the table. He thrives to please his people, and he appreicates the connection with his humans. He is an incredible dog and just wants to do the right thing.

He’s mastered housetraining, sitting at intersections, heeling, and coming around to offering a paw in exchange for treats. Squeaking squeaky toys are the hot new thing in Porto’s world, we’d like to ensure his forever home has an endless supply in addition to a plush bed – big enough for sprawling.

He is ok with kids, but as calm is his favourite thing, we are asking for older kids only. And, for cats, so far, he is more fearful than reactive, so we’d suggest dog-savvy cats only.
