BENJI – Terrier Scruff / 2.8 Years / 17kg / M-Neutered

Benji is at with our trainer for a bit of a tune-up and an assessment. Bottom line, he is an insecure pup, just desperately looking for his place in life. He came into rescue after his owner died, so he may just be truly sad and concerned.

Highfives for K9s has given us an early assessment: “He’s doing so well! Really settling down. He’s definitely a sensitive boy. So far, I’ve done lots of work with him on-leash indoors. He’s not allowed to roam around and because of that, he’s so much more at ease. He is fine with my whole family but definitely gets nervous if he hears loud voices or gets startled by movements. Nothing bad, he relaxes when he notices nothing is happening. He is very respectful with my dogs and wants to play with the younger one a bit. He definitely needs a dog buddy. He’s sensitive about who is running the show and won’t challenge them. If someone isn’t in charge, I could see him getting uptight in the separation anxiety and pushy behaviours. His future family will need to be someone who can set the tone that he needs to respect others and then also build proper trust. He’s a dream here!”
