CHAPARRA – mini-lab / 2 years / 10.5 kg / F-Spayed / $450

“House-trained? Check! Good on leash? Check! Quiet? Check! Cute, sweet, happy, good in the house, well-mannered, easy to care for, and looking for her forever home? Check, check, check, check, check, check, check!!!

Meet Chaparra, aka “Happy Chappy” – the girl who’s got it all going on! Chappy is an adorable 2 year old, 25 lb Mexi-mix with lots to boast about! She is house-trained, quiet, walks well on leash (keeping tabs on all the squirrels), non-destructive, does not need to be crated, sleeps through the night on her bed, naps if you have to step out, travels perfectly in the car, and loves all people! Her foster mom says she is so easy to care for! She loves to play and go for long walks or hikes and then happily naps in her corner of the couch. She was good at the groomers, even getting her nails trimmed! She tolerated bath time without protest. She only chews on her toys. She is easily trainable and treat-motivated. She was a hospital visitor for a few days and everyone loved her! She loves being with you and has been the perfect work office mascot, sleeping at her foster mom’s feet and greeting clients politely, when allowed.

Sweet little Chaparra was found as a stray in Mexico, badly injured. Both of her cheeks had been brutally sliced, most likely with a machete, and required surgery to repair. Despite this, Chappy is a happy, healthy girl now! Because of her mistreatment, she is understandably sensitive to certain kinds of touch when resting or sleeping. She will let you know if she’s uncomfortable and her foster mom now knows how to handle her physically so that she never feels this way. She has become so much more confident and playful since arriving here! She is good when left alone for a short time (a couple of hours a day), but loves her people and would appreciate someone who can hang out with her a lot. She prefers slow introductions to new dogs, but likes the company of those who respect her chill vibe. She is currently enjoying apartment life with on-leash walks, but a secure yard would be cool too! Did we mention she’s a little movie star? Check out her “day in the life” video and apply now if you’d like to add this cutie to yours!
