COLA – Lab-Whippet / 1 year / 11 kg / F-Spayed
We’re so excited to share that Cola seems to have finished her decompression period and is showing us her true colours. This little beauty is quite the firecracker! She’s a pro in the house—housetrained (really!) and totally comfortable with things like the TV, blender, vacuum, and hair dryer. She’s become besties with her large female foster sister and, though it took some time, has slowly warmed up to her large male foster brother (perhaps because of her abusive past, she takes some time to feel comfortable around new people and dogs).
Cola is a smart girl and is keen to work for food. She has awesome leash manners, has already mastered ‘sit,’ and is almost there with ‘stay’ and ‘come’ too! While she loves burning energy with the zoomies, puppy parkour, and a good wrestling match with her foster sister, she also appreciates a good midday nap and chill time to play with her favourite toys (currently ones that crinkle or that she can throw around). And at the end of a long day, Cola loves nothing more than to settle in on her bed for some belly rubs.
Cola’s ideal home is with people who are home most of the time (she loves human companionship) and who enjoy training and seeing their dog progress. A secure backyard is a must for those aforementioned zoomies—as is a dog pal to burn energy and continue to build her confidence. She would be fine in a home with older kids or kids who are experienced with dogs. Cola did well on her cat test in Mexico, but she is very playful so we prefer dog-savvy cats only.
If Cola sounds like the one for you, visit www.dibsrescue.com for the adoption process and application. We will only be reviewing applications where there is an existing dog in the home. Her adoption fee is $750.
