CORTANA – Mexi-Mix / 1 year / 14.5 kg / F-Spayed

Meet Cortana! This sweet and cuddly girl can be timid at first, but once she warms up to you, she loves to give kisses and roll over for belly rubs. She’s energetic and loves to run (she’s super fast!) and socialize, so she would do great with a medium-size fur sibling to have fun with. A secure backyard is also a must. Her favourite game right now is fetch and she’d love nothing more than a family who is home most of the time and has lots of time to play with her! She does have a past injury that causes a bit of a wonky walk. Pre-rescue she had a broken hip that healed on its own. Once she was rescued, she had to undergo surgery to fix as much as possible. This doesn’t stop her from loving her walks, or playtime in the back yard.

Cortana passed her cat test in Mexico and would be fine in a home with cats, but she’s developed quite an interest in squirrels, so other small animals are a no-no. Her foster home doesn’t have any kids so she hasn’t spent time around them. While she’s friendly and loving, she can be bouncy when she’s excited and may be a bit much for very young children. At night, Cortana rests comfortable (and quietly!) in her crate—but she’s excited to see and spend time with her people in the morning. She’s doing great with house training and basic commands, and her leash manners are a work in progress!
