FAUNA – Scruffian / 6 months / 9kg / F-Spayed

Fauna was named after a Disney fairy “shown to be a bit flighty, but is the kindest of the three and the most sensitive”. Our Fauna isn’t flighty, but she is kind and sensitive in all the best ways!

In her foster home, she is learning to take in the sights and the sounds, but she does seem to feel most comfortable chilling with some great music and a suburban life (free of sounds of traffic). Wherever she is, she makes the best of it and will soon relax and joins in the fun. In her foster home she tries to engage in the existing un-fun pup and while he won’t play with her, she does watch him and follow his lead (secretly, we think he loves it).  Her future home should have a dog that is willing to not only mentor, but partake in all of the fun!

Fauna is crate trained and sleeps soundly throughout the night. She is also doing very well with housetraining and will let you know when she needs to go out! We know that she will graduate from the crate in the next month or so. She is highly motivated by food and praise and her favourite toys are the ones with treats in them. Due to her love of treats, she has learned to sit and is picking up the skill of walking by your side on her leash. She also discovered she maybe sorta kinda likes kids! And-Fauna passed her cat test in Mexico.

Fauna will need a home with a yard to do zoomies in (her new found joy) and a full time dog pal to help continue building her confidence. Her ideal family will be home most of the time, who are willing to allow her time to adjust. Big city life may be a little too much for Fauna and we feel a home in the suburbs would be best.

If you are interested in applying for Fauna and want to show her the world, please review the adoption process and application at www.dibsrescue.com. Her adoption fee is $870. If you are a family with kids, please check out our resources on kids and dogs before you apply (https://dibsrescue.com/kids-dogs/).
