JITA – Basset Mix / 3 years / 14.5kg / F-Spayed / $500

One look at Jita, and you may feel like you know all there is to know about her. She is equal parts kind and friendly and she loves to love: snuggling and belly rubs are top of her list of favourite things. Food is high on that list too, and she is very motivated when it comes to her training, when she knows treats are on the line! So far, she does sit when asked, and is learning manners around coming into the home. She really enjoys her walks – so much so sniff and see (squirrels are a highlight)! House-training is coming along well – not perfect yet, but working on it!

Her foster mom says she is pretty special. She does love to be with her people and is happy to just be with them. She is great with dogs too, and enjoys their company, but a full time dog pal is not a requirement (really, who wants to share belly rubs?). She is very easy going overall – except for with cats – so cat-free for Jita! Looking at her, you can see that she must have stories – a few scars that tell of things that we will never know. Despite her past, she is only looking forward ready to give (and receive) unconditional love. She is good with kids too!

She is currently sleeping in her crate at night, but as she is not remotely destructive, we will put it away once house-training is fully mastered. When foster mom isn’t looking, she has explored every couch and bed there is to lay on. We predict this will be a very important part of her future life (and her foster mom is working with her on asking first). Fun fact: she is 2x as long as she is tall (16″ x 32″) – how cute is that?
