JULY – Pointer Mix / 3 years / 21 kg / F-Spayed

July is as warm and sunny as her name suggests! She LOVES to play, and is obsessed with her favourite toy, the kong. July is adorably clumsy – “a bull in a china shop” is quite an accurate description when she’s in her playful mood. Although energetic at times, she’s also extremely gentle, very quiet, and likes to balance her energy with chill time. July loves humans and will follow you all over the house.

Foster mom asks herself “is she high energy or medium energy” as it’s hard to tell. When out for a walk, she’s great on the leash, although she is still learning some commands. She is getting 3 hours of walks a day (1 hr/30 mins/1 hr/30 mins) but around 4pm she gets antsy for something to happen. Does she need more walks? Does she need a dog pal to wrestle around with? Does she need more puzzles? We are trying to figure it out, and learn what July is asking for during this witching hour.

July’s future home will have a secure yard and she would be happy to have a dog pal to play with, and we are exploring if this is a must. She would be fine with dog savvy cats but since she doesn’t quite know her own size, we’re looking for a kid-free home for July. Because July loves for her people to be by her side, she will need a family who brings her along on adventures and doesn’t leave her alone at home for long.
