“Friends are the family you choose” and Camilo and Lucas are the very best of friends that we think of them as brothers. Little bro Camilo loves to curl into Lucas and gives lots of face kisses. Lucas is always looking out for the little guy making sure he is ok (on occasion he will return the kisses). They both love toys and play really well together, chasing each other or sharing the same toy. They nap together during the day, and at night they share the same crate as it seems to be everyone’s preference. Their backstory: they are a victim of divorce. The husband dumped them into a kill shelter, and once the housekeeper heard the news, she bailed them out, took them home and called her brother to take them into his rescue group.
In the home they are very polite and respectful. Lucas is fully housetrained and Camilo had a few accidents in the early days but is currently on the right path. It took a week to adjust to the cats (blame the little guy) but all is harmonious now and the cats will walk under Lucas if he is in their way.
Walks are a work in progress. Both adore their time outside and taking in new adventures. Lucas gets pretty excited to see new dogs and we are working with him to show his people more focus and worry less about what the other dogs are doing. Each day gets progressively better, and Lucas is learning that there are going to be dogs walking around and he doesn’t need to be everyone’s friend.
These guys are bonded: brothers for life. We won’t be separating them, so their future home needs to be keen on having both a big dog and a little dog mentality. Seeing them together, will make anyone love them, despite their sizes. As stated by foster dad, they are pretty much perfect.
