MAX – Shepherd Mix / 2 years / 21 kg / M-Neutered

Max is an incredible, lovely, loyal dog – sensitive right down to his core. He is still looking for a family to love him unconditionally.

All the bad stuff first. He loves having a dog pal for confidence and playtime. In his foster home, he has been fine with big and small dogs (and happily greeted a new arrival, Balin). He has a slighly wonky leg, likely from a past injury or abuse. The vet suggested joint suppliments, which would benefit him (or any of us, really) forever. And he wears his heart on his sleeve: he loves deeply and he will take time to adjust in a new home. He’ll miss his foster family, and he’ll be nervous of new changes. Standard stuff, but Max may take a few days longer than most.

And, the good stuff. He is a joy! He loves to play both with humans and the dogs in the home. He likes everyone – men, women, kids. He isn’t a snob: foster mom has a big beautiful pool, but he prefers the wading pool she got for him instead. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body (sure, he has growled out of fear or insecurity, but is kind through and through). He is housetrained. He loves dog beds, and suntanning and belly rubs.

For his future home, we want a zen life: leisurely walks, a dog pal, people home most of the time to love on him, and peeps with the time and patience to help him begin his new journey.  If Max sounds like your kinda guy, visit www.dibsrescue.com for the adoption process and application. His adoption fee is $750. If you are a family with kids, please check out our resources on kids and dogs before you apply (https://dibsrescue.com/kids-dogs/)
