MELO – Boxer/Border Collie Mix / 1.5 years / 18 kg / F-Spayed

Friendly, loving Melo is looking for her forever home. She is an active girl who loves playing fetch and sniffing everything she can on her walks. She really loves playing in the water and she even enjoys bath time. She is a loyal girl and enjoys being close to her humans. Despite being the life of the party, this girl sure knows how to wind down and snuggle!

Melo is good at most basic commands, and is also learning to use her intelligence constructively. Mental stimulation toys like kong’s, and treat puzzles are her favs! Melo passed her cat test and had no issues with her feline friend. She is house and crate trained, and is being fostered in a home with dogs and children. She loves playing in the yard with her foster sister, and loves cuddling with her human foster brother.

Melo is food motivated, so as long as there is a treat involved, she is happy to follow commands. She is working on leash skills and is showing much progress. Melo has fear with some men, loud noises, and unfamiliar objects. She is responding very well to desensitizing and is well on her way to healing. She is building her confidence daily!

Melo is hoping for an active person or family who understands her needs. She is always ready for a game of fetch or tug. She’s a great jogging partner, but equally loves napping and will curl up beside you.

If you are a family applying with children, please note that Melo still has some puppy tendencies, and older, dog savvy children may be a better fit. Her future family will need to continue her training and provide structure so Melo continues to live her best life.
