If ever there were a #fromthestreetstothesheets poster child, it’s Poppy Snow. This sweet girl started life on the streets of Mexico where she’d spend her days searching for garbage to eat and shelter to stay out of harm’s way. Poppy did her best on the street but our partners at the Snoopy Project quickly realized that she was not built that life; she’s just too sweet and sensitive to survive on her own. And so began the Poppy’s journey towards her new life…

Step 1: learn to live in a home with humans that love you! Poppy’s foster parents were hand-picked for their gentle touch and patience. In the last few weeks, Poppy has learned to trust people and enjoy being touched. She now enjoys affection so much that she asks for attention with gentle nose-nudges. We expect her to continue to blossom as she settles in to her forever home and anticipate that she’ll be an award-winning snuggler! Her foster parents went above and beyond ensuring that Poppy would be ready for her new life: she is house trained, relaxed walking on a leash and even knows how to sit.

Poppy would do really well with a dog mentor. If you have a mature and gentle dog at home looking for a companion, Poppy would make an excellent little sister. Cat companions are also ok in Poppy’s books.  Because she is still becoming her best self, we recommend Poppy go to an adult household with a fenced back yard.
