TUCKER – Vizsla-Boxer Mix / 4 Years / 21kg / M-Neutered
We adore our Tucker! He is a sweet, low-key guy on a journey to build his confidence and discover his place in the world. He’s back in foster care after his last family underestimated the importance of confidence building/professional training – leaving him misunderstood and insecure. But with the right structure and support, he’s thriving in foster care—proving to be a really easy pup to manage. With the right family, he will continue to blossom.
Tucker is happiest when he’s near his people. He’s got a lot of love to give and enjoys curling up in a cozy dog bed for afternoon naps on cold winter days. He’s also a big fan of walks (his leash skills are impeccable!) and enjoys exploring the backyard. While he’s content to chill, he’s also learning that playtime and new experiences can be fun too.
Since confidence-building is key for Tucker, his ideal family will be patient and committed to helping him grow. Positive reinforcement, gentle exposure to new experiences, and a consistent routine will all help him flourish. His new family should offer steady encouragement and leadership, helping him navigate the world with assurance—but they’ll also understand that babying him won’t achieve the results he needs. Instead, he’ll thrive with a calm, confident approach that reassures him he’s safe while also encouraging him to take on new challenges. Structured walks, enrichment activities, and celebrating small wins will go a long way in helping Tucker become the best version of himself.
Tucker’s needs are not extraordinary—he simply needs people who are willing to be there for him, guiding him as he gains confidence and grows into the best version of himself. In return, he’ll offer his family unconditional love and loyalty. He’s already proving to be an easy-going and manageable pup—now he just needs a forever family to call his own!
Tucker would do best in a calm home with a family that has his back. He would thrive with a dog pal to help continue to build his confidence.
