YOSHIO – Shepherd Mix / 8 Months / 18kg / M-Neutered

Quirky Yoshio is still looking for his forever family (that includes a dog pal!)
What this guy lacks in confidence, he makes up for in sweetness. His future home needs a bit of patience and the ability to work with him on building his confidence (a lot can be done just by working on every day activities).

Yoshio is very devoted and absolutely loves to be with his people. He bonds best when his confidence is bolstered, so we know he will do well with the right family, as they will include training into their daily life. (Don’t try to push him to bond: he likes the subtle approach best!)
When you do bond with him, you’ll have a friend for life! He’s got some skills down and is learning more: he already sits when asked, paws at the door when he needs to go out (almost fully housetrained!), and waits politely at doors. Once he is comfortable, he shows off his goofy, playful puppy side – he is so happy to hang with other pups and will entertain himself with a good squeaky toy, after which he settles down for a nap at your feet. Yoshio is affectionate and does not shy away from belly rubs, face rubs, or pats of any sort.

As with all puppies, there are some areas that need work so Yoshio can be the best boy. He loves walks, which is awesome; sometimes this means he gets too excited and may pull if he sees a bird, or perhaps a leaf. He can be concerned when introduced to new stimuli, and he has protected his dog dish from unknown dogs (once he learns food is unlimited, we suspect he will get over it) He’s super eager to please, and smart so we know he will learn to be a confident boy. He will do best with folks around most of the time for consistent guidance, and who provide proper boundaries.

Now, his wish list. Yoshio needs an existing dog pal in his future home, one he can learn from and play with; a secured yard to let out his puppy energy; a quiet, calm home without young kids (not a fan of loud noises). Historically, he has ignored cats.

We are so excited to find this amazing guy his forever home! To apply to make Yoshio part of your family, check out the adoption process and application at www.dibsrescue.com. His adoption fee is $870.
