YOSHIO – Shepherd Mix / 6 Months / 15kg / M-Neutered

Wonderful Yoshio is going to be a super loving and dedicated member of his future family. He learns quickly and has really come out of his shell in his foster home. He loves to play – yes please to squeaky toys and ropes to chew on! – and entertains himself readily, followed by a cozy nap at your feet. He is a looker (check out those eyebrows) and just such a good boy! He’s also affectionate, snuggling up to his peeps and showering them with kisses and bouncy morning greetings. He loves his canine foster siblings and can be a little awkward when meeting new dogs, but really he just wants friends to play and run with. This lanky boy is strong, fast, and not fully in control of his legs yet!

If you want a dog who makes great eye contact and is a good listener, Yoshio may be the one for you. He has lovely house manners: sitting before coming in, waiting at doors and for meals, and taking snacks gently. His housetraining is going well and he usually asks to go out. Yoshio loves walks although his future family will need to continue helping him improve his focus – he’s a sensitive guy and gets distracted by noises, birds, other dogs, even blowing leaves! He sleeps quietly in his crate overnight and is getting better about being there during the day.

Yoshio is doing really well learning from and playing with other dogs, and his future home will need to have an existing dog pal. He’s super eager to please but can be a tad insecure (he just wants attention). He’ll do best with folks around most of the time for consistent guidance and confidence building, and needs a secured yard to let out his puppy energy. As he is not a fan of loud noises, a home that’s ideally outside of the big city, and without young kids, would be best. Yoshio passed his cat test in Mexico, and if you want to melt your heart, take a look at the pictures of him hanging out near some ducks!

To apply to make Yoshio part of your family, check out the adoption process and application at www.dibsrescue.com. His adoption fee is $870. If you are a family with (older) kids, please check out our resources on kids and dogs before you apply (https://dibsrescue.com/kids-dogs/).
