ZAKIA – Retriever Mix / 3 Years / 17kg / F-Spayed

We can’t say enough great things about the lovely Zakia! (Her foster family – dogs included – are all smitten).

She enjoys time with her canine pals (either as in home siblings or besties with lots of playdates). She is an ideal dog companion and won’t rush an introduction. She is great at reading other dogs and is cool about adjusting to meet their energy and letting the relationship develop. In her foster home, she took about 3 days with one dog and 6 days with the other to be in full play mode (different dogs, different wants…good girl Zakia!!) On walks she may be too smitten with the neighbourhood cats, and we do wonder if she may chase, so we suspect cat-free may be best for her in the home.

Other than the cat thing, she may be perfect. She is polite in the house, good with people, happy all the time, not destructive, housetrained, a great motivator for a walk as she just loves them. She is smitten with humans, so people that are home most of the time may be best for her (especially if there is not a dog pal in the home.)
